

Duncombe’s family said there will be a public viewing from noon-5 p.m. at First Congregational Christian Church at 638 High St.
This will be followed by a private memorial service from 6-7 p.m.
The celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 1550 East Washington St. According to Duncombe’s obituary, the funeral will be by invitation only, however it may be seen via the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
Duncombe, a well-known, Montgomery church leader and educator, died last week. He was pastor at First Congregational Christian Church. Before that, he was the first Black band director for Sidney Lanier High School and later became the school’s principal.

Bishop Harry L. Seawright, Presiding Prelate 9th Episcopal District AME Church, officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, directing. Due to the COVID -19 pandemic, there will be limited seating capacity and masks will be required. Invited participants will be allowed only. Funeral services may be viewed via Facebook and Youtube (Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church). He leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories, a devoted and faithful wife of 55 years: Juanita Delores and they are the proud parents of two children: United States Army Colonel Farrell J. Duncombe, II, Washington, D.C.; (Antionette), and Dr. Djuana T. Paden (Jerome), Coordinator of Bridge Program/Retention Specialist – Alabama State University, Montgomery; and they are the very proud grandparents of Farrell Jackson Duncombe, III (Trey), Washington, D.C.; Loryn Nacola Duncombe, Woodbridge, VA; and Trinity Delana Wilson, Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friday, June 11, 2021 a Public Viewing will be held from 12pm- 5pm at First Congregational Christian Church, 638 High Street, Montgomery, AL 36104 along with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Memorial Service 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Due to the COVID -19 pandemic, this will be a Private Service only.
