Popular COGIC Pastor Michael D. Green, Sr. Has Died

Elder Michael D. Green, Sr. was born and raised in Hampton, VA. He is the youngest son of Bishop Samuel L. Green, Jr. and the late Madame Vivian F. Green.

Elder Green received the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 16, and he has been ministering to the body of Christ ever since. In his academic career, he attended Hampton Public Schools, Thomas Nelson Community College and Deeper Life School of Theology in Hampton, Va.

In 1993, at the age of 23, he officially accepted his call to ministry and has been an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ since August 1996. He is the founder of Word and Power Ministries, established in 2001 as an evangelistic ministry geared to deliver and empower people through the preached word of God.

Elder Green is the pastor of Rock Center Church, he and his lovely wife, Mrs. Candace Laverne Green, his childhood sweetheart, have worked untiringly to empower the community to which they were assigned. Along with this union God has graced them with a miracle child, Michael Duvall Green, Jr. Armed with faith in God, and his loving companion, Elder Green has sought to “Build rock solid singles, marriages, and families”.
Elder Green is also International Evangelist Department President of Region 7 of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.,Chesapeake, VA and President of MGM Global, and President of Church Community in Action (CCIA), Portsmouth, VA.

Known for being a prophetic preacher, Elder Green has traveled the length and breath of this great nation, sharing the word of God to all that will hear, with his motto, “It’s Already Done!” (Rev. 21:6). He has a unique way of combining praise and worship with the ministry of the Word of God.

However, all of these accomplishments and deeds mean nothing to Elder Michael D. Green, Sr. if God is not pleased with his life. He would rather be known for his relationship with the people of God and His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ than his earthly accomplishments.
