In a suit that was actually shining, Fletcher Cox arrived in Arizona on Sunday for the 2023 NFL Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The defensive tackle for the Eagles was dressed in a glittering silver suit with a gray top underneath. He matched the clothing with a pair of white sneakers. A black bag and a silver Cuban link chain were his accessories.
From his high school years on, Cox’s football career started to take off. In Mississippi, he represented Yazoo City High School. His next step was to enroll at Mississippi State University. Cox was chosen in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, and he signed a four-year deal. He agreed to a six-year contract worth $103 million in extended pay and $63 million in guaranteed pay in 2016. Cox was cut by the Eagles in 2022, although he later signed a one-year contract.
Cox is the proprietor of Shady Trell Property, a 1,500-acre hunting ranch in Jacksboro, Texas, in addition to preparing to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The ranch also provides lodging for weddings and outdoor activities.
One of the most viewed television events of the year, the Super Bowl attracts equally as many people and attention to its entertainment as it does to the actual game. R&B legend Babyface will perform “America the Beautiful” as part of the pregame schedule, along with Sheryl Lee Ralph and Chris Stapleton of country music, who will both sing the national anthem.
