Federal charges have been brought against a man from Carrollton after it was discovered that he allegedly utilized the detention of two accused drug dealers to promote the sale of his own narcotics.
Donovan Jude Andrews was arrested in Carrollton on Wednesday and charged with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Investigators believe the 20-year-old is connected to at least two new overdoses.
Weeks after three Carrollton suspects were arrested for allegedly selling fentanyl laced pills to middle and high school students, federal investigators arrested a man they say tried to take advantage of less competition.
Andrews is charged with posting a comment on an Instagram post in February announcing the arrest of Luis Navarrete and Magaly Cano, who are suspected of being the leaders of a drug network that is believed to be to blame for three fatal fentanyl overdoses by teens in Carrollton.
Using the alias “deegetbandz 3x,” Andrews reportedly posted comments in which he said that the two alleged drug traffickers “took all the ATTENTION” from lawmakers and that he was selling his own M/30 tablets for $10 each.
He also published an Instagram photo with the title “F*** em come get em” that announced the killings of the three students.

When they continued to follow the account after seeing the message, they discovered multiple posts discussing the selling of blue M/30 tablets, which are frequently found to be laced with fentanyl.
When the user posted an image from inside the hospital showing someone carrying a urine sample that featured the complete name Donovan J Andrews with a date of birth
Using the information, police identified his home address, according to the criminal complaint.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, in early February a 14-year-old who suffered an apparent fentanyl overdose told police she had purchased the pills from a person using the same Instagram account.
Law enforcement also believes a 15-year-old Hebron High School student who did not cooperate with officers purchased pills from Andrews.
