A guy from Arizona was detained last week after it was claimed he baptized himself in a church fountain while naked.
According to reports, Jeremiah Sykes, 20, was discovered Saturday morning naked in the fountain of One Life Church in Mesa, next to Gilbert Road. He was asked to leave, but he resolutely refused and grabbed a blanket, according to court papers.
Police arrested Sykes and charged him with criminal trespass and indecent exposure before transporting him to a detention center.
Sykes is accused of hitting two jail officials when he was at the holding facility. The suspect reportedly struck another cop who tried to step in after striking one in the head.
He refused to take a mug shot.
“The detention officer was transported to the hospital for immediate medical attention due to a laceration cut near his eyebrow,” the court documents said.
“The initial arresting officer suffered a small laceration to his bottom lip,” the documents added.
Additionally, Sykes was accused of serious assault and resisting arrest. He apparently shown aggressive conduct in the past.
