Barbara donned an immaculate white and silver suit. She also wore a pair of one-inch heels – four inches shorter than the stilettos she favored in her youth. Her late first husband Robert Holman was pastor of the Sacramento’s Christ Temple Apostolic Church, with locals saying she helped inspire them to be ‘godly women’ and ‘godly wives.’

After Robert died in 1996, Barbara married second husband Herman Robinson in 2000. He died in 2018. Barbara still lives life to the full, and only gave up driving three years ago after she was stopped several times for speeding. She explained: ‘I was a fast driver. ‘They stopped me several times. They always said, “Lady, do you know how fast you were driving?” ‘I’d say, “No.” They’d say, “You were driving over 87 miles. I think you’d better slow down.”

‘I enjoyed driving. I hated to give it up.’ Barbara says her favorite past time is reading the Book of Psalms and New Testament. She explained: ‘It’s going to help me make it to heaven. ‘I’m expecting to go to heaven and meet him there. ‘It’s about the Lord coming back to retrieve his disciples. I’m looking forward to being one of those.’
