Thieves may have gotten away with an air conditioner from an Ohio church — but one day, they’ll take heat for their actions, the congregation’s pastor says.
The burglars lifted the brand new AC unit — worth $3,500 — from the Akron Alliance Fellowship Church about three weeks ago, FOX 8 reported.
In response, the church displayed the sign, “Whoever stole our AC Unit: Keep it. It’s hot where you’re going.”
Pastor Gus Brown told the station the message is clear.
“[It means] that you are wrong and staying on this path will only get you one place,” Brown said. “And we don’t want you to go there. Our desire is to even see him at our church one day.”
The church plans to have a special collection Sunday to raise money to buy a new air conditioner.
“We hadn’t even made the first payment on it yet,” Pastor Gus Brown told the station. “It had only been in a few days.
Brown says he hopes the lawbreakers repent.
“You need to recognize that you’re hurting yourself,” the pastor told the station. “Because you’re not just going to wind up before a judge here on Earth. You’re going to wind up before the judge of judges, and he’ll hold you accountable.”Enlarge Image
