After losing her $2 million pear-shaped engagement ring while partying in Miami Friday — then miraculously finding it in an ice bucket — friends of Paris Hilton say they “fear for her safety with that huge rock on her finger — they are scared she’ll be robbed like Kim.”
Page Six exclusively reported that Hilton, 37, went into panic mode after her gigantic 20-carat ring from fiancé Chris Zylka flew off while she was dancing with her hands in the air in the wee hours of Friday at industrial former soda factory RC Cola Plant at Mana Wynwood. The massive venue is nearly 50,000 square feet and holds up to 7,000 people.
Luckily, after an exhaustive search of the VIP area by Zylka, 32, and security, a by-then-hysterical Hilton’s ring was found in an ice bucket two tables down from where she’d been dancing. Now, as first revealed on “Page Six TV,” Hilton is asking her jeweler to make an inexpensive replica of the ring.
One close friend of the hotel heiress told Page Six following the incident, “Paris, and her friends, are afraid she’ll end up being robbed like Kim [Kardashian], because everyone knows she’s got $2 million on her finger.” Kardashian was robbed in Paris in 2016 by a gang who tied her up and demanded she give them her $4 million engagement ring from Kanye West.
The friend continued, “Paris DJs at clubs all over the world, so it isn’t hard to find out where she will be on a particular night. Her friends and her fiancé, Chris, have been encouraging her to get a replica made with an inexpensive stone that she should wear when she’s in public.
“After the ring scare on Friday, Paris agreed, and is having the replica made.”
Hilton was also unnerved by a stranger who seemed to be following her around Miami that same night, the friend added. “There was a weird guy hanging around who appeared everywhere Paris went on Thursday into the early hours of Friday. He didn’t get too close to her group, but he was close enough to make everyone uncomfortable. We assumed he was after the ring, she’s going to be taking her own security more seriously from now on.”
“The Leftovers” star Zylka popped the question to Hilton in Aspen over the holidays with the giant engagement ring. We’re told they hope to tie the knot by the end of this year.
Hilton exclusively told Page Six on Friday of losing the valuable bauble, “It was literally one of the scariest moments of my life. I was devastated! I thought there was no way we were going to be able to find it with all of those people [in the venue].
“The ring was just so heavy and big that while I was dancing it literally flew off my finger into an ice bucket a couple of tables over. Thank God by some miracle my fiancé found it before someone else did and most likely would not have returned it. I am so lucky! Thank goodness I have amazing karma!”
A rep for Hilton didn’t comment Monday.
