Ohio parents were appalled to learn that a Pataskala, Ohio church leader allowed kids in an after-school program to spit on him and cut him with a knife, reports WBNS.
In the video, which was posted to social media, the students spit, hit and use a knife to cut associate pastor Jaddeus Dempsey — as he seems to encourage them.
He was trying to teach them the meaning of Easter, but the kids and their parents were upset by the violent incident.
One parent said their child was deeply troubled by the encounter. “He was upset,” the parent told WBNS. “He thought he was in trouble. When I explained to him I’m not upset with you, I just want you to know that the things that happened here wasn’t OK.”
In an apology video Dempsey said he crossed the line. “I crossed the line and it was over the top.”
