MIKE TYSON admitted he would have bitten Evander Holyfield again had their infamous boxing match been allowed to continue, in a resurfaced interview.
Iron Mike and the five-time world champion’s rematch in 1997 will go down as one of the most controversial bouts in boxing history.Holyfield was the better boxer going into the third round when Tyson decided to bite both his ears.He was eventually disqualified – failing to win back his WBA heavyweight title in the process.
The former heavyweight rivals appeared on Larry King in 2013 and their interview has since come to light again after being posted by the channel’s YouTube channel last week.
Recounting the fight, Holyfield said: “Now it came to a moment where I don’t even know who I am anymore.“The referee stopped the fight.”Tyson then claimed: “At the time, I don’t think I should have been disqualified.
“[If we continued to fight] I hope I would have won.
“I probably would have bitten him again because I was really angry too.”
