‼️2020 Has Been That Year!! In the midst of A Global Pandemic and so many uncertainties the 2020 year has been one of great awakening in areas worldwide. It is no secret that 2020, the largest Pentecostal Denomination in the world has been hit hard in the area of transitioning of Bishops, Pastors and We’ll as female leaders. Tonight, The Presiding Bishop of The Church of God in Christ, Bishop Charles Edward Blake, Sr. Released a international video on the Social Media page of the Church of God Inc. announcing that he will not be seeking re-election. Wow! However, you will be surprised to the reason in which I totally agree.
Bishop Charles Edward Blake, in the year of 2000 became the First Assistant Presiding Bishop of The Church of God in Christ Inc. and had the honor and privilege of serving along with the former Presiding Bishop, The Late Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson. In 2007, Bishop Charles Edward Blake became the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ.
The accomplishments are too long to name according to the live video Bishop Blake released.
Bishop Blake, now 80 years old has decided from what we gather to dedicate his focus and energy to the new $25 Million Dollar Family Life Center Project that’s underway in Los Angeles at the church where he Pastors, The West Angeles Church of God In Christ. Bishop Blake was very clear that his heart is definitely with the Church of God in Christ as they approach this transition.
He has ask the General Board of The Church of God In Christ to grant him Bishop-Emeritus. This news may come as a shock to some, but I personally feel at 80 years old, it was a wise decision and definitely shows the humility and kindness of Bishop Blake.
Bishop Charles Edward Blake will go down in history as one of the most “Innovative Leaders” of The Grand Ole Church. We will continue to follow this story as the COGIC prepares for their upcoming Election where a new leader will be voted in.
Now the question is…”who will be the next leader of the 7 million member Pentecostal Organization affectionately known as “The Grand Ole Church Of God In Christ”…we will soon see!
Well done Bishop Charles Edward Blake, Sr.
