Kristaps Porzingis’ MVP-caliber start to the NBA season understandably has New York excited about the Knicks for the first time in years.
Maybe a bit too excited.
NBC’s Benjy Sarlin tweeted a photo Tuesday of a Porzingis write-in ballot for New York City’s mayoral election. Incumbent mayor Bill de Blasio ended up winning another term, but the Porzingis support is strong in New York.
Word of the write-in vote eventually made its way over to Porzingis, and the 22-year-old would be up for the challenge. When asked about the vote, Porzingis said that he’s ready for the job.
