On Monday’s show, Johnson, 31, was asked about his relationship with former flame Demi Lovato, but turned his attention to Palmer instead.

After the show, Johnson was criticized on social media for the spontaneous move, so he tweeted that he made a “playful comment” to deflect the question.
He also clarified that he likes to date black women — since fans pointed out that Lovato and “Bachelorette” Hannah Brown are white. He added, “I’m happy, those are the vibes.”
Johnson did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
