GOOD MORNING BRITAIN was at the centre of a heated debate today as Alastair Campbell appeared in the studio to discuss his stance on Brexit and why he champions the People’s Vote. But he clashed in a fiery clash with Piers Morgan, leaving Susanna Reid to step in. Things quickly turned on Good Morning Britain when Alastair Campbell and Piers Morgan went head to head during the argument, prompting Susanna Reid to tell them stop.
It all unraveled as Morgan took Campbell to task over how he spoke about those who vote Leave during the 2016 referendum.
“I think it’s so insulting when you say ‘you stupid people’,” Morgan began.
Campbell reported: “When have I ever said that?” The two then began to shout over each other as Morgan asked: “Why don’t we give the British people exactly what they voted for?”
“Piers can I-,” Campbell started to say as Morgan said: “It was not a difficult thing to understand.”
“Piers just shut up for a second,” Campbell chimed in.
“Whatever happened, whatever the cost…that is the consequence of a referendum,” Morgan continued.
Campbell declared: “Piers, stop your silly games if you want to have a serious discussion.”
“Stay calm,” Reid interjected as she could see tensions were rising. “You want to keep having other votes,” Morgan continued. “I don’t think you believe what you’re saying.”
“Can I have a little monologue?” Campbell asked. “Do you want your own monologue?”
Morgan then referred back to the protests held in London when the UK joined the Iraq War under a Labour government led by Tony Blair.
“You never listened to the people when it came to the Iraq War,” Morgan stated.
“Stop shouting at each other!” Susanna ordered.
