A vandal left a disgusting and smelly surprise at a church near Kannapolis, North Carolina: Feces on the pastor’s chair, deputies said.
The pastor of Unity United Methodist Church on Unity Church Road found the feces when he arrived at the church Tuesday morning, Observer news partner WBTV reported.
“Somebody needs Jesus, is the easiest thing I can come up with,” church member Ronnie Bentley told WBTV.
The pastor also found grape juice spilled all over his desk, according to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report obtained by the Observer.
A Wi-Fi box had been removed from a hallway ceiling, the sheriff’s report says. Security lights in the hallway and cameras in the sanctuary also had been removed, according the report.
The pastor also saw a yellow powder covering floors, “and in some rooms the substance covered everything,” the report says. An officer later determined the substance was a chemical spray from a fire extinguisher.
Vulgar words were written on boards in two classrooms, according to WBTV.
A side door to the church had been left unlocked the night before, the pastor told sheriff’s investigators, the sheriff’s report says.
Sheriff’s detectives “have suspects in mind,” but have made no arrests, sheriff’s Capt. John Sifford told WBTV.
