It’s a shame recording artist and reality TV star Tamar Braxton and music executive Vincent Herbert weren’t able to sell their gorgeous Calabasas, CA, estate when they put it on the market for $15 million in October 2017. The luxe mansion is now available as a rental for a whopping $85,000 a month.
A timely sale might have alleviated the drama facing the couple, who are in the midst of an acrimonious divorce. Liens totaling nearly $450,000 were filed on their property by a nanny who was awarded a claim for unpaid wages, a limousine company that’s claiming unpaid services, a financing corporation and a bank, according to The Blast.
Braxton and Herbert are now ready to rent out the home, which they bought in 2013 for $10.5 million. But they might have a tough time finding a tenant willing to cough up the exorbitant rent.
The median rental price in the area is a healthy $5,800 a month, which is nowhere near the couple’s asking price.
But this property is unlike anything else in the celebrity-filled community known as Estates at the Oaks in Calabasas.
Not only does the mansion have a salon, lounge, professional recording studio, playground, mirrored gym and 15-car garage, but there’s also the fabulous Champagne bar, modeled after the Dorchester hotel in London.
The 13,716-square-foot main residence sits on 2 acres with views of the hills. It has seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, two family rooms, a wine cellar and tasting room, home theater, game room, chef’s kitchen, elevator and elaborate security system.
Braxton began recording with her sisters as the R&B singing group The Braxtons in 1989. She also had a successful solo career with three hit albums.
On TV, she appeared with her sisters in the WE network’s “Braxton Family Values” reality show and with her husband in the spinoff “Tamar & Vince,” which ran for five seasons and recently ended with Braxton announcing their divorce in the final episode.
