Dr. Moses Herring, a young vibrant pastor who was born in Macon, Georgia, certainly etched his name into greatness Sunday, March 4th, 2018, with a riveting message. As the entire sanctuary commemorated the 14th Pastoral Anniversary of Dr. E Dewey Smith, Dr. Moses Herring was busy creating a legacy of his own.

His message entitled, “How to Fix What Doesn’t Fit,” deriving from the book of Isaiah, chapter twenty eight, verse twenty. He began his sermon by saying, “When you try to force yourself to fit into something you have outgrown/matured from, you will experience pain in your life.” It is imperative that you go to the right people when you are under attack. The harsh reality of the situation is that some people aren’t stable, spiritual, or seasoned enough to speak into your life.

Dr. Moses Herring asserts, “You can’t get sane advice from crazy people!” I assume Dr. Moses Herring did not think that we would fully comprehend the message with just words. Therefore, he went the demonstrative route to add substance to his message. Having his preaching assistants go to the back and bring out a bed fit for a young child.

He then said, “Your bed has to fit you for you to get peace and comfort.” Dr. Herring continues, “A bed that won’t fit you will not fulfill but frustrate you.” Sometimes you can be in a troubling circumstance that God may have placed you in.

In 2 Kings 17:1-4, the people of God were under an attack that God allowed! Every now and then God will discipline us when we get out of line. Sometimes spiritual whippings are necessary to help you get to the next level. “The enemy uses past successes, painful seasons and perpetual stresses to keep you from growing,” exclaims Dr. Herring.

Never allow success to make you stagnate! Those who refuse to evolve will eventually become extinct! “When you go back to what God delivered you from, you won’t have long-term security,” says Dr. Moses Herring.  We won’t have peace when we entertain people and things we already should have evolved from!

Dr. Moses Herring sent a call to action to the parishioners of House of Hope Atlanta. He said, “You’re in a season where you’re going to have to stretch or you will shrink!” He continues, “some of us have been the same size for too long.” We all have the requisite tools to build a bigger bed, for, a man is the architect of their own destiny. According to Dr. Moses Herring, “the tools you need to build a bigger bed are spiritual fire, spiritual faith and spiritual fortitude.”

He reminded the House of Hope Atlanta congregation that, “It won’t always be easy but it will always be necessary!” Dr. Moses Herring closed by asking the God to enlarge his territory and reign down with blessings. WOW! What a riveting sermon.
