Kevin Jonas Sr. is on the mend.
After being diagnosed with colon cancer last year, the Jonas patriarch received word from doctors he had entered remission days before Christmas.
“My entire life really flashed in front of me,” Jonas Sr., 52, told People. “In that moment, I thought, ‘Have I lived a good life? Have I been good to my kids and my wife? Have I done right by people?’”
Following a visit to the doctor last March for his first colonoscopy, Jonas Sr. was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer three weeks later, after undergoing surgery to remove a malignant mass from his colon.
“Suddenly life felt short,” he shared.
With the support of his famous kin, including sons Kevin, 30, Joe, 28, Nick, 25 and “Bonas Jonas” Frankie, 17, Jonas Sr. underwent chemotherapy treatments for six months.
“When I found out about my dad’s diagnosis, it was a balance of hope and real concern and fear. I pray that no one else ever has to go through that,” Nick said.
“A situation like this makes you wake up and appreciate the ones around you,” Joe noted.
Three months after receiving the all-clear from doctors, Jonas Sr. is looking forward to what’s ahead.
“I want to have more romance with my wife of 32 years, see my kids get married and watch my grandkids grow up,” Jonas Sr. said.
Son Joe is engaged to “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner, 21, while Kevin and wife Danielle, 31, share two daughters, Alena, 4, and Valentina, 1.
