OKLAHOMA CITY —They didn’t have much to begin with, but now Rockwood Baptist Church near Grand Boulevard and Southwest 25th Street is working with much less.
“I began to feel a little down and then I remembered the Lord just reminded me I got this.”
Crooks basically took everything of value they had.
Pastor Don Williams walked KOCO 5 through where everything used to be, also showing us the window they shattered to get in.
All in all about $20,000 worth of equipment.
Laptops gone, their speakers gone, their security cameras, ink, a copier, even the van the church uses to pick up and drop off inmates — gone.
“The thing that hurts the most besides the fact they stole, we are trying to help people that are in prison,” Williams said.
Williams says most of the items were donated. They can’t afford it themselves.
But days later, there was some good news.
Police recovered their van, a few letters missing, but still working.
And Pastor Don is still praying, even for the folks responsible.
“Truthfully, I pray the folks who did this give their hearts to the Lord,” Williams said. “This all can be replaced.”
