President Barack Obama is making his first post-presidential campaign appearance on Thursday where he is set to stump for
Northam’s campaign announced the event on Wednesday, saying in a statement that Obama would be hosting a rally with Northam Thursday night.
“At the rally, Ralph and President Obama will discuss the need for the next governor to create economic opportunity for all Virginians — no matter who you are or where you’re from,” the statement added.
Obama has psince the 2016 presidential election, often taking to Twitter to weigh in on national tragedies and political debates as of late.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, will also be lending a hand to the Northam campaign at an event on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence will be campaigning with Northam’s opponent,, on Saturday as well.
Virginia’s gubernatorial election will take place on November 7th. Northam and Gillespie are running to fill the seat that Gov. Terry McAuliffe currently holds. McAuliffe, elected in 2013, is term-limited, as Virginia does not allow governors to serve two consecutive four-year terms.
