A small centimeter that makes all the difference. There are less than ten days, Jean-Christophe Conéjéro has managed a fishing almost miraculous : it has emerged from the waters of the Tarn a catfish 2.74 m long and beats the world record, bailiff report to the support.
If any fellow would have failed at sight of this monster of fresh water, the fisherman seasoned has nothing left. “A stroke of luck” for the “fish of a lifetime” he told our colleagues of The Is a Republican.
“Fishing catfish 2.50 meters becomes aware of it”
This amateur fisherman was in a float-tube, a small boat made of boards and or the uses of palms, when he noticed the specimen. After several minutes of fighting he has won the game… and a record. He beat the one owned by a fisherman that was released in 2015 waters of the Petit-Rhône, near Vauvert in the Gard, a specimen of 2.73 metres long and 130 pounds.
“Fishing catfish 2.50 meters long in the river Tarn, it has become common practice, but not of 2.74 meters,” admits Matthieu Ravari, manager of Mr. Fishing-France and a friend of Jean-Christophe Conéjéro.
This professional fishing guide welcomes people from around the world come to fish outside the norm, more and more many to spawn in the rivers of the South-West.
