The goth rocker who seems nothing like the R&B star once saw her perform the song live and was left in awe of her authenticity, which then went on influence him whilst he was creating his forthcoming LP Heaven Upside Down.
The 48-year-old told Consequence of Sound: ‘Strangely enough, one of the records that influenced this album strongly, and it can’t
be taken literally [sonically], is Rihanna, her last record. That one song, Love On The Brain, it really hit me because I saw her perform it and she just … meant it.’
And that’s not where the Tainted Love stopped in surprising us, he also said that after meeting trap rap star Lil Uzi Vert whilst having dinner with hip-hop King Rick Ross, the latter was desperate to collaborate with him.
That’s right. Rick Ross is itching to collab with Marilyn Manson.
‘I’m at this hotel and I’m having dinner with Rick Ross, who said his dream is to work with me,’ he recalled. ‘He ghosted me a bit. But the same night, I hung out with Lil Uzi after we had talked. And we talked a lot. He ghosted me also. I don’t know if by the time this airs, he will have still ghosted me.’
In a separate interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1, the rocker also praised Lil Uzi’s music, revealing he was a fan of Luv Is Rage 2 revealing that it also reminded him of himself when he was younger.
He said: ‘I like his new record way better than the first one he. The first one, I saw potential in him because he had this attitude that reminded me of me when I was his age. I don’t want to sound aged by saying that, it just sounded like what needed to happen. But it wasn’t fully formed.’

It looks like the Philadelphia rapper is also a fan of the rocker as he debuted a Marilyn Manson-inspired chain designed by Ben Baller.
The $220,000 (£166, 000) chain features Manson sporting Mickey Mouse ears, the same look he had on a 2015 cover of Paper magazine.
