On a conference call with reporters yesterday, Rachel Lindsay did not reveal any Bachelorette spoilers.
Not about the ABC series on which she’s about to star at least.
But the first-ever African-American to be featured as the object of desire on this competition did reveal a very important spoiler about herself, and that is this…
Asked on the aforementioned call whether she’s in love or engaged, Lindsay did not hold back.
She didn’t reveal the name of her chosen suitor or offer any hints along that line, but she did come right out and confirm the following:
“I am very much so in love and very much so engaged!”
Can she tell us anything at all about the individual who apparently proposes at the conclusion of the upcoming season of the hit show?
Nope. Not really. Not anything remotely specific, that is. Especially not who wins the final rose (though The Bachelorette spoilers reveal that).
“Every morning I wake up and pinch myself and I keep asking myself if this is really happening,” she said, doing a solid job selling the romance.
“It’s crazy at times. I feel like I don’t even deserve this. I feel like I’m getting everything that I want and I am getting my happy ending.”
Wow. Lindsay nearly has us convinced that she’s really, truly in love and that her engagement is going to work out.
For her sake, we hope this is the case.
But those who watch The Bachelorette online each week and then follow the lives of the star and her winner after the series ends know better.
These relationships simply never work out.
Lindsay advanced to the final three on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor and was confirmed as The Bachelorette almost immediately afterward.
She told Jimmy Kimmel at the time that she’s prepared to “put [herself] out there” in the hope of finding a “happy ending.”
