A 78-year-old woman was found dead on the floor of her Brooklyn apartment with a cord wrapped around her neck, police said.
Juanita Cabarello’s adult son made the grisly discovery around 5 p.m. Friday while visiting his mom at her Powell St. apartment near Dumont Ave. in Brownsville, cops said.
The son told police that the door was locked when he showed up, and he found his mother lying in the hallway of her home. He tried to perform CPR but couldn’t revive her, said cops.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine just how she died.
One doctor shares his perspective on a treatment option for advanced lung cancer and what it may mean for patients facing this challenging diagnosis.

Detectives found no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to have been taken from the apartment, police said.
There have been no arrests.
