Someone really cleaned this guy’s place out – literally.
A Massachusetts man said someone entered his Marlborough home earlier this month and seemingly took nothing — but instead dutifully cleaned his bathrooms, bedrooms and made several beds.
“Growing up in the age we do, my first thought was a serial killer,” Nate Roman told The Post on Friday. “My next thought was wondering if my son was safe, worrying if someone was still in the house.”
But instead, the intruder vacuumed, scrubbed the toilets and left eerie roses fashioned out of toilet paper in the bathrooms, without leaving any kind of note or identifying information behind.
Roman said his best guess is that a cleaning service was mistakenly sent to his address, although he hasn’t heard anything to confirm that theory.
“I have no evidence that that’s what happened,” Roman said. “No one has come forward.”
Roman said he thinks he forgot to lock his door ahead of the May 15 incident, but that still doesn’t explain the creepy cleaner.
“I just wish someone would come forward and say, ‘It was me,’” Roman said. “Just so I could know.”
Roman said he changed his locks later that evening after calling cops following the frightening experience. His young son did not have the same takeaway, he said.
“He’s 5, he thinks the whole thing is hilarious,” Roman said. “The next time I tell him to clean his room, he’s going to tell me to leave the door unlocked.”
A message seeking comment from Marlborough police was not immediately returned Friday.
Sgt. Daniel Campbell told the Boston Globe said the incident was a first for the department.
“We have not received any reports similar to this in other locations, and we have no suspects at this time,” Campbell told the newspaper.
