Check out the Christian Post. The family member also sent them info on the widow being evicted. The above info is from their investigation and the questioning of the church attorneys.

According to the Christian Post’s investigation, attorneys for the Church stated that the church proactively financed a $100,000 dollar life insurance policy for the Bishop, and his widow was the only beneficiary. Weeks after he passed, she received a check for one hundred thousand dollars. Not only that but the church had generously provided for them, even paying for his home health aide care at 1700.00 a week AFTER he retired; Also this was not a surprise to the widow, this had been discussed sometime before.

Sometimes over zealous family members will not give the full context of a situation and thus put out a story that views their family as a victim. In most churches that have a parsonage, the church pays the insurance on the home, the utilities, they live rent free and depending on the church, the family enjoys all kinds of perks, and still get a salary. In all those years of freebies, if a Bishop, or pastor have not gotten their affairs in order, then hey… The church can’t take care of her in a 2 and a half million dollar home for the rest of her life. What about the next pastor. Seems like they rode a good gravy train for a long time which leads me to wonder, now, who is the one with greed? In these types of situations you can ask for prayers all they want, and not give the full story which will lead to misunderstanding, but God is not upholding mess or wrong doing. Just pray for the well being of all and it comes to a peaceful conclusion.
