The singer – who voices Nala in the live-action version of the 1994 Disney animated classic – was joined by royalty on the star-studded yellow carpet as Prince Harry and Meghan arrived hand-in-hand.

Other famous faces who strutted their stuff included Pregnant Myleene, who showed off her baby bump in  a blue gown, while Maya Jama wowed in white sheer dress with frill detail.

Newly engaged couple Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh looked smitten, as the former Towie star opted for a bridal inspired dress.

Elsewhere it was a family affair as Guy Ritchie as he arrived with wife Jacqui and his kids Rafael, Levi, Rivka and David Banda- his son with Madonna.

Vin Diesel posed up with his children Hania, Vincent and Pauline – as well as his stunning Paloma.

Other guests in attendance included Sam Faiers, Love Island’s Kaz Crossley and Jess Wright.

As well as voicing the lioness, Beyonce has created a musical tribute to the film – teaming up with some of her favourite artists for the album The Lion King: The Gift.

The singer has already been tipped for an Oscar – with fans predicting she will win  the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Speaking about her new album, Beyonce said: “This is sonic cinema.

“This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film.

“It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

Her song, Spirit, features soaring, inspiring lyrics, including: “Rise up, to the light in the sky. Watch the light lift your heart up, burn you flame through the night.”

It features new recordings by the multiaward-winning singer, including Spirit – which was co-written and produced by Brit rapper Labrinth.

Harry and Meghan showed their support at the event in Leicester Square, in aid of conservation work through The Royal Foundation.

The royal couple are due to meet some of the cast and crew before watching the film.

Sir Elton John, who helped create music for the original film, was also in attendance at the premiere.

For the film’s release, Disney announced the Protect The Pride campaign, aimed at raising awareness of dwindling lion numbers.

The Royal Foundation will be involved with and support the campaign.

Early reviews for the film have also been glowing, with critics hailing it as a “visual masterpiece” that will leave you “smiling and crying” throughout.

The movie also stars Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones, who reprising his role as Mufasa from the 1994 film, and comics Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa.
